Abstract

The highest leader in an educational institution is the principal. The performance of educators and education staff can be influenced by the behavior of the principal. Therefore, the leadership of the principal needs to be considered and made a special concentration. In order for the principal to carry out his duties and obligations properly to achieve the goals of the school that has been planned, his leadership role must be considered. A school principal to support his leadership must have a good personality.  The principal is a leader in the world of teachers who should be prepared to face and adapt to the challenges that come in any situation.  The principal also has an important influence in advancing an educational institution. The presence of the principal in the school is very important as a pioneer and motivator of school resources, in order to form a working group/teamwork that is able to collaborate in school construction so as to bring positive energy into the atmosphere of teaching and learning activities. To support the expected success of a school institution, it is necessary to prepare the principal as a professional leader, who is able and willing to carry out planning, development, and evaluation of policies and regulations that occur.
